Famous Daves in Kansas City

I hate that I love a BBQ chain restaurant. I was born and raised in KC. I know, and love, great BBQ. With that being said, I really enjoy Famous Dave's at the Legends. Tastes local but a fun family atmosphere. 🤷‍♂️I like to mix the Devil Spit with the other sauces and smother my meat. Ha. Drinks are legit as well.

Very unprofessional the staff was not courtious. They showed favortism to customer s that where not African American. They tried to establish rules that where not inforced to whites. I will never eat at the resturant at the ledgens mall location period.

have dined there several times always as family reunion with 8 adults & 8 kids. mgmt. & staff have been excellent in handling/serving our family. drinks a plenty and food always plentiful, tasty & most enjoyable. good experience, food and memories. thanks.

Manager needs class on customer service. When your customer is upset that you lost their order but charged them $80 and you ended up having to remake it producing the order an hour after it was placed you APOLOGIZE, you don't blame shift. Terrible service costs companies loyal customers and he just proved that. We will not be back for this mediocre high priced bbq. Wish I could give 0 stars

The food here was excellent! I had brisket, it was tender and delicious. I took off one star because everything else was a bit too spicy for me. The mac and cheese had jalapenos in it, I couldn't eat it. The sauce on the pulled pork nacho appetizer was also very spicy. I wish the menu would show this before ordering.

Hostess was extremely rude to everyone that was arriving. Evidently the kitchen was short-staffed & she let EVERYONE know about it. No one was getting seated--not even in the near-empty bar where at least drinks could be ordered. Our initial wait of 10 minutes grew to 45 minutes. When I inquired, the hostess got huffy & said we could just leave if we didn't like it. We did! Probably never to return! Too bad it was a Sunday evening. Otherwise, we would have gone to JOE'S KC. We'd never get treated so rudely at JOE's. I'm surprised Dave's has any business given the front desk hostess. Perhaps last night was her very first night on the job....

Had a really good meal. The service was excellent.

The drinks are well made! The food is always amazing! Staff are nice and friendly and the prices aren't too high. The bbq is some of the best I have ever had and I was born and raised in Kansas City the BBQ capital of the world!

This place is amazing the feast for 2 was incredible and served on a trash can lid! Very cute place. Service was also great.

This is absolutely one of the best place in the area. Every time I visit this place I am deeply satisfied. They hold their high standard service and the highest level of food they give. You no doubt will love this place. Highly recommended.

First time eating here, so was a bit skeptical til I got my food. I ordered the Devil Spit Burger with fries and it was AWESOME!!! Definitely will go again and probably order the same!

Have went Famous Dave's for years now. One of my favorite places. Tonight though was not a great experience. The BBQ Beans, fries, and muffin were delicious as always. The rib tips though tasted like the meat was spoiling. If was able to eat at restaurant would have sent order back. Since live half hour away had to just trash.

I don't know what has happened to the Legends KC, KS location, but the service has been terrible the past few times we've been in there. If it was packed I would understand but it isn't that busy. We were seated right away, but took forever for a server to acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and took another 15 minutes before we got them. Took 30 minutes for the food to get there. Portion sizes (for the meat) were extremely small and it is still as expensive as any other BBQ place. Will not be returning.

This is the third Famous Dave's I've visited in 3 different cities. Each restaurant was impressively clean.The staff was friendly and inviting. The ambience and decor was conducive to the establishment. They had ample items on the menu from which to choose. And based on the quality of the food one can determine that owner's and staff take great pride in their restaurant. It's well worth visiting. Thank you Famous Dave's..I'll be back

We have been fans of Famous Dave's for a long time but the service we recently got just blew us away. When we pulled up to the parking lot someone came out and greeted us at the car. They brought us some menus and took our order when we were ready. Excellent curbside service and great food. Dave's is doing it right! Thank You.

Food was great, but the worker's were to busy playing and touching in all inappropriate places. It's a family restruant and if they wanna do these things they should get a room.

It's a pleasant atmosphere. You can bring your children along and not worry. The service I've received has always been prompt, friendly, & best of all competent.

I ordered food through grubhub recently and they did not send the dessert I ordered. I called the restaurant thinking they just forgot to add it to the bag. I was told they did not send it because they were out. They then start telling me what else they have. I just asked for a refund on the dessert. If they cared about customer service at all they would have called and asked if I wanted something else before the order was picked up for delivery. I definitely was not paying for another tip for my dessert to be delivered. On top of that the food is not that good. I will stick with zardas drive thru. I only tried this place because I had a gift card. Would not spend my own money on it.

Took my granddaughters there before the movies. Everyone ordered something different and it was all delicious. Service was excellent also. Really like all the variety of sauces. I will definitely come back.

It was really good and everything was hot and fresh and our server was really good too!

Service was excellent. I got the burnt end dinner. Food tastes good. Servings were skimpy. Meat was the size of small sugar cubes. Not the size I am used to at other places and all cubes fit on a slice of bread.

Service was ok, food was slow, and cold. The BBQ was mediocre at best, tried the ribs, rib tips and brisket. Not bad if you're in the area and desperate for a bite to eat.

I sent my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is yummy and the stuff is very friendly and cooperative. Whenever we go to this place we enjoy a splendid evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Ordered a family meal online for carryout. After four months of the pandemic I expected them to have a good system in place at the carryout counter. They didn't. The ribs and chicken tasted good. The coke slaw had too heavy a horseradish flavor. Couldn't eat it. Baked beans had bell peppers in them. Corn muffins were delicious.

Unbelievably poor service and even worst was management response (or rather LACK of). This experience has ended my visits to FD. We’ll find somewhere else for our BBQ with better service.UPDATE: Was contacted by the restaurant manager who was very apologetic and has assured me this will be fixed. Dan seemed very sincere and we will return. Our experience last night hopefully will be resolved.

Courteous service, great food, decent prices.

One of the best barbecue locations that I've been too and since the location in Manhattan KS closed Kansas City is the next closest so me so me and my little girl stopped on the way home and really enjoyed the barbecue nachos.

The Feast for 2 is a great family value. Good service and clean environment. Family go-to place when in Legends

I love the barbecue here! The service is always great and the food fresh. My favorite is the Georgia pulled pork which I just tried during my last visit per recommendation of our waitress and it was definitely worth it! We had the bread pudding for dessert which is covered in a sweet praline sauce. Each time you visit and keep your receipt and do the survey, you get a code for a free dessert on your next visit. The dessert is enough for 3 to 4 people to share.

Naked ribs are my favorite...so good! Waiters very nice, too.

Wonderful as always. Will definitely try their all you can eat catfish on Fridays

We had the rib tips and they were really good. The only things that kept them from a five-star was their iced tea and greasy fries.

We went here at the beginning of January as we were staying at Great wolf across the road. I place an order and went to pick up I ordered 4 drinks as well. Once we got back to our room to eat we took a drink and 2 of the 4 drinks were just carbonated water not the pop I paid for. I called right away to see if they could refund me for those drinks instead I talked to the manager and he suggested I go back and get the pops. I was unable to do that so he told me he would mail me some coupons because I don’t live in the area. He asked for my name and for my address and told me he would get them in the mail the next day. Needless to say It’s been a month and I never received any coupons. I will not be going back here ever and I have let my family that does live there too. Why do they need to lie to customers? I would’ve better if he would’ve just told me there was nothing he could do, but lying to me is irritating.

Very small portion size but what was there was tender and tasted good.

Food was excellent along with the service!! My father was visiting from Pennsylvania and he also loved the food!! 5 stars for sure!!😊😊

If ya dont taste you're burnt ends before you serve them, you'll never notice the burnt molasses that ruins the meal. Poor form.

Brisket was good today. If you are into hot sauces they have special ones by request only. Check them out if that's your kind of thing!

Food and good value, haven't tried the one in Ft Myers. KS franchise great.

Good Waiter, Love the Chips, Pork was very Juicy and so was the Chicken but the Ribs were a little tough and the Friend Potatoes were not cooked enough.

We came in here and ordered the feast for two . I know it's a chain restaurant but it was awful. The ribs weren't even close to being done. The brisket was so tough and dry it was inedible. The beans were good and the water was s cold. Other than that I wouldn't go back. Too many other good bbq restaurants in kc. I was not impressed. They need help.

Terrible, when we arrived the waiting room was pretty full so we expected a long wait. Asked about how long it would be to be seated they said 15 minutes, cool we waited. About 30 minutes into the wait I asked the hostess how long until we would be seated he informed us it would prolly be 30 minutes. Annoyed at this point I went to the restroom, that’s when I noticed that 1/3 of the table had no guests sitting at them and were cleaned off. I asked the hostess who I assume was the manager and he kind of shrugged it off. And seated us almost immediately. While we ate the waiting room stayed full and there were 9 tables that never had anyone sit at them. We ordered nachos and they were supposed to have brisket in them but it was just lettuce and bar b q sauce with 3 small pieces of meat. Waitress only came to our table 3 times over the hour we were there. Drinks sat empty for a while. Food finally showed up and the food wasn’t too good mostly dry wouldn’t recommend

Place is an embarrassment to Kansas City. Horrible quality bbq. Cooked fast by total amateurs. I couldn't even eat the ribs they were so tuff and I just threw it away. What a rip off

Really enjoyed the food. I ordered the stuffed potatoe with broccoli, sour cream and cheese, and it was surprising how tasty it was. I was just thinking a plain ole spud with a little stuff on top. The country chicken was also good, although a little bit too salty for me. BBQ sauce took care of that, though.And, in a COVID world, it was a clean environment, with tables spaced out, servers in masks and gloves, and a cleaning station to properly sanitize once we'd left. Well done, Famous Dave's!
